Jan Maghinay Padios

Jan Maghinay Padios is a scholar and writer whose work has been published by Indiana Review, The Center for Art & Thought, Zócalo Public Square, Cultural Studies, and the Kunsthall Trondheim. She is an associate professor and the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, and a visiting associate professor in the Humanities & Media Studies Department at Pratt Institute. Jan has a BA in Architecture from Columbia University, an MA and PhD in American Studies from New York University, and is currently an MFA student at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Virginia. Her first academic book, A Nation on the Line: Call Centers as Postcolonial Predicaments in the Philippines was published by Duke University Press in March 2018. Jan is working on an illustrated memoir called How to Build a Home.
