Mildred K Barya is Assistant Professor of creative writing & literature at UNC-Asheville and board member of African Writers Trust (AWT). She has published three poetry books: Give Me Room to Move My Feet (Amalion Publishing), The Price of Memory After the Tsunami (Mallory International), and Men Love Chocolates But They Don’t Say (Femrite Publications). Her prose, poems and hybrids appear in various journals, including Tin House, Per Contra, Northeast Review, Prairie Schooner, and Poetry Quarterly. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Denver and blogs on literary matters at mildredbarya.com.
