Aaron Holloway

Aaron Holloway (presenting with Jordan Havlicek) is an alumni Computer Science student here at the University of Washington's Bothell campus. Software development is my profession, and virtual/augmented reality is my passion. In his coursework, he explored the use of these technologies as tools for creative production. During the Spring 2019 quarter, he had the honor of working alongside Jordan Havlicek, Reagen Kerley, Jeanne MacBeth and Ayantu Dawud on a VR group poetry showcase. Inspired by the book-length poem by Tommy Pico, IRL, their group wanted to blend physical and digital art for our final project. They were also investigating opportunities for unique multi-modal expression in a VR environment, using the flexibility of a virtual space to have full control over textures, lighting, audio and simple "physical" interactions that helped shape each poet's personal scene and convey something about their identity beyond the written page.
