Janet Sarbanes

Janet Sarbanes is the author of the short fiction collections Army of One (Otis Press/Seismicity Editions) and The Protester Has Been Released (C & R Press). The recipient of a 2017 Creative Capital/Andy Warhol art writer’s grant, Sarbanes has also published art criticism and other critical writing in museum catalogues, anthologies, and journals. Her essay on Shaker aesthetics and utopian communalism received the Eugenio Battisti prize from the Society for Utopian Studies. Sarbanes teaches in the MFA Creative Writing Program at CalArts.
