LH

Luke Harley

Luke Harley is a writer and musician based in Sydney, Australia. In 1988, as an eight-year-old, his music was selected to be performed at the Australian Bicentennial celebrations; since then he has cultivated his interests in both poetry and music, notably under Professor Lyn Hejinian's supervision at UC Berkeley (2007-08). Over the past decade Harley has written numerous articles on American poetry for such journals as Jacket2, Hambone, and Journal of Poetics Research; these focus on the work of Nathaniel Mackey, Amiri Baraka, Barrett Watten, Ted Pearson, and Carla Harryman, among others. Harley is also a "keen" (if not quite virtuosic) instrumentalist, and in his spare time plays jazz trombone and viola.
