Lyndsay Ellis Bloom

Lyndsay Ellis Bloom (b. Florida, USA) is a filmmaker and artist working in experimental cinema and film installation. Bloom’s process involves putting media archeology into practice, investigating the physical properties of celluloid film, and considering intersections between the history of materials usage, film processing techniques and digital technologies. Bloom received her BFA from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in 2006, and her MFA from The University of California, San Diego in 2016. Her films have screened in venues including SFMOMA, Fortuna Kino in Vienna, Cineteca Tijuana at CECUT, TIFF Cinematheque, Brooklyn's Microscope Gallery, The Harvard Film Archive, CineMarfa Film Festival, and the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Bloom attended artist residencies including MAAS Artist Residence in Nijmegen, Netherlands, SOMA Summer in Ciudad de México, and Film Farm near Mount Forest, Ontario.
