Tom Haviv is a writer, educator, multimedia artist, and organizer based in Brooklyn and born in Israel. A Flag of No Nation is his debut book of poetry. Tom’s work has been published and performed internationally. He is the founder & designer of the Hamsa Flag project, which has been engaged with internationally, and used by a range of organizations (from JFREJ to the program for Jewish/Arab Cultural Studies at Tel Aviv University). His poetry and essays have appeared in Fence, Conjunctions, Prelude, Black Sun Lit, The Sakura Review, FEELINGS, Unruly Blog, and PROTOCOLS. His first children’s book Woven was published in fall 2018. He is the co-founder of Ayin, an independent press and creative collective dedicated to publishing art, poetry, and nonfiction engaging with speculative theology and political imagination. He received an MFA in Poetry from Brooklyn College in 2016. His website is tomhaviv.com.
